A video and a screenshot that both gave me a chuckle today:
First, this video on Instagram.
A comedian shared that AI asks if it can ‘professionalize’ a curt email he sends to his staff. It creates an 18 page email. All of his staff don’t want to read 2 pages so they click ‘Summarize’ and the AI summarizes to his original curt email. 😆
Next, and this one is not just comedy but something that actually happened. AI gives email summaries for unread emails and this person gets a pretty harsh summary before opening the email: ‘Relationship ends;’ – yikes!
We are all in a new relationship, a relationship with Artificial Intelligence… but not fully intelligent, or compassionate, or helpful… yet. It’s coming, but in the meantime, there are going to be some messy situations. These are humorous but the latter one is quite insensitive. That said, so is ending a relationship via email. So, while AI has a lot still to learn, so do some people too.
